Naturopathy & Naturopathic Counselling

Approaching Health from a Holistic Perspective

What is Naturopathy?

The Practice of Natural Medicine

Naturopathy takes a holistic approach to health. It takes into consideration physical, mental and emotional wellbeing, treating an individual as a whole, rather than focusing on treating the disease.

There are different approaches to help an individual to achieve their desired health outcomes. These include dietary and lifestyle modifications, nutritional and herbal medicine, talk therapy, stress management techniques and exercise recommendations.

What is Naturopathic Counselling?

A Holistic Approach to Mental Wellbeing

Naturopathic counselling is the process of exploring thoughts, feelings and behaviours that are no longer serving the individual, in a safe and supportive environment. It aims to provide guidance and support for personal growth, emotional healing, and problem-solving, alongside considering influencing factors such as gut health, sleep quality, stress and the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis and hormonal health.

Naturopathic counselling provides the opportunity to explore various mental health presentations, whilst also addressing underlying compounding factors.

"It is my belief that one cannot approach physical health and mental-emotional health in isolation."

What to Expect.

How the appointment is approached.

You will be provided with an intake form prior to entering your appointment. This form requires you to provide information regarding your current health concern, how long it has been ongoing, past treatments tried, diet diary, any current medications and/or supplements, past health history and any relevant family health history.

At your initial appointment, we delve into the information provided in your intake. We ask you many questions about various aspects of your health, including questions regarding function of different body systems, an in-depth analysis of your diet and relationships/support systems.

Using this information, we will create a basic treatment plan, utilising SMART goals, whilst integrating your health priorities. In more complex presentations, the treatment plan may be further reviewed and sent out within 2-3 days. Any testing requirements will be included here. The treatment plan will also explain the integration of relevant body systems, which will guide the overarching approach to achieving desired long-term health outcomes.

Follow-up consultations check in with the progress made with recommendations from the previous appointment, along with a check-in with your current symptoms, with any variation resulting in an update of the SMART goals.

Appointments take approximately 60 minutes, and cost $180.
